Knit for Change – Middle School Club Making a Difference

A newly formed Middle School lunchtime club Knit for Change has recently begun meeting each fortnight, bringing together students who are keen to learn, or share the skills of knitting and crochet, all in support of a meaningful community cause.

Students are creating knitted and crocheted squares, which will be combined to form warm blankets for people in need. Not only does the club provide a calm and creative space for students to connect with one another, but it is also a wonderful opportunity to develop fine motor skills while contributing to a project that supports vulnerable members of our wider community.

We are currently calling on any family members within the IGS community who may be able to assist us in gathering as many completed squares as possible. Squares should measure 25cm x 25cm, and can be knitted or crocheted using any colours or patterns.

Together, let’s use our creativity and craftsmanship to make a tangible difference, one square at a time, and help create warm blankets for those who need them most.
