HICES Music Festival

IGS High School students auditioned and were successfully selected to represent our School at the annual HICES Music Festival held at Stanwell Tops. HICES Gifted and Talented Camp

In the first week of September, eight Year 6 students attended the HICES Gifted and Talented Camp, joining peers from 16 other schools across New South Wales.

Throughout the week, students explored a wide range of core subjects, from stock market simulations to stop motion animation and pop music composition. They also took part in electives such as dramatic skills, realistic portraiture and sporting statistics.

Evenings were just as enriching, with highlights including a presentation by Adrian Cheatham, Senior Manager of the Reconciliation Action Plan Program, who spoke about social cohesion and the importance of respect across all cultures in Australia.

The five-day, four-night camp provided a unique opportunity for like-minded students to connect, collaborate and extend their learning beyond the classroom. It was wonderful to see our students making new friends, building confidence and enjoying their time together.

HICES aims to create exciting opportunities and collaborative experiences for students that go beyond what any single school could offer, and this camp was a shining example of that vision.
