IGS CLASS OF 2005 TWENTY YEAR REUNION

On Saturday 20 September, 21 Alums from the Class of 2005 returned to IGS for a School tour, followed by a gathering at the nearby Glebe Hotel.

The group was amazed at how much the School has grown, from the expanded facilities to the number of students now attending. Many remembered their Primary years at the much-loved Surry Hills campus, making the visit even more special.

Highlights of the tour included the Renaissance Centre, the Bibliothèque, the Drama Centre and the gym in the Kerrie Murphy Building. Alums were eager to learn more about the School’s recent history, with some asking about the current “vibe” of campus life, others considering IGS for their own children, and many sharing fond memories of After Care and Vacation Care.

There was also time for reflection, with several speaking of the respect and gratitude they hold for inspiring teachers such as Paul Cahill and Anthony Dennehy.

The reunion showcased an incredible diversity of career paths, from veterinarians, scientists and nurses to carpenters, politicians, firefighters, IT professionals, entrepreneurs and librarians. Stories were exchanged, memories revisited, laughter shared – and even a few tears shed.

It was a joyful and heartwarming occasion, celebrating both the past and the continuing bond of the IGS Class of 2005.
