IGS Career Development Program

Career Avenues

As part of the IGS career development program, we partner with Career Avenues, who specialise in supporting schools to deliver structured careers guidance that assists students with subject selection and future career planning.

In Week 3, on Wednesday 11 February, Year 10 students will participate in a comprehensive profiling day at school. This profiling is designed to help students better understand their interests, strengths and explore career possibilities. Students will complete an online career assessment exploring personality, abilities and preferences, resulting in an individual Career Profile Report.

In Week 7, students will discuss their results in a 30-minute online interview with a qualified Career Avenues practitioner, gaining personalised guidance and practical next steps.

Information is available at the Career Avenues website and the parent information video.

It is recommended that students in Years 11 and 12 revisit their Career Avenues Profile Report. The report and accompanying online resources can be valuable tools for career discussions at home and during individual meetings with the Careers Advisor, helping to support informed decision-making about future study and career possibilities.
