Generations of IGS Gather Again

Over recent weeks, IGS has been buzzing with reunions big and small including the Class of 2020 marking five years since graduation, the Class of 2015 celebrating a decade and staff past and present gathering to reconnect. Each event brought laughter, stories and a chance to see how much has changed, and how much remains the same — the friendships, the memories and the IGS spirit.

IGS CLASS OF 2020 FIVE YEAR REUNION – August 30

Forty nine members of the Class of 2020 made their way back to IGS on Saturday 30 August evening. They loved the Renaissance Centre, the new art Classrooms, the Drama spaces and of course, the staircases.

There were diamonds in teeth, models, actors, influencers, future dentists, brain researchers and everything in between. There were several IGS long term relationships on show as well as many lovely memories being recalled of their time at school. A fun evening all round!

2025 IGS STAFF REUNION – September 6

They came from near and far. From the early days to the present times of IGS. It was great to see people renewing old friendships, telling stories, smiling at shared memories and meeting new friends.

Sixty past and present staff gathered at The Glebe Hotel after many took a tour of IGS. Icon Rita Morabito was there, as were IGS legends like Rita Finn, Maureen Gill, Stephen Laurence, Eva Pretty, Jono White, Sarah Travis, Joan McKendry and David Miller. Plenty of other champions made appearances – Dave Smith, Julie Hill, Juliette Bates, Jane Raeburn, Ann-Kathryn Kiehn and plenty more. There were also many present day staff including David Mueller, Jodie Blacker and Anthony Dennehy.

Special mention goes to Michael Douglas from 1993, who arrived with the hope of seeing some of his old teachers. This was a really enjoyable event, made more so by seeing how seamlessly the staff mingled with the Class of 2015, who were having their ten year reunion in the same venue!

What a night! Laughs, stories, memories and some fun moments combined to make this a really lovely evening. Twenty eight members of the class of 2015 turned up to The Glebe Hotel to relive the good old days.

A special mention to Yuki Kono who flew in from Tokyo and out again the next day. That’s dedication!
