During Chinese New Year, our ELC hosted a range of vibrant and engaging celebration activities. Classrooms were filled with festive red decorations, and children created paper dragons and traditional fans while writing New Year wishes on red paper to share their hopes for the year ahead. Together, we listened to the story of the Nian Monster and explored the meaning behind traditions such as red envelopes, reunion dinners and wearing new clothes.
Children enthusiastically took part in traditional games, including ring toss and a special Fortune Toss activity, experiencing the joy of the festival through laughter and play. Through dragon and lion dances, drumming and imaginative role-play in our Hot Pot Kitchen, children engaged in rich, hands-on learning experiences. These meaningful celebrations deepened their understanding of Chinese culture and filled our ELC with excitement and a strong sense of community.
