Mock Trial Team Advances to the Next Round

IGS Mock Trial Team secured a hard-fought victory over Brigidine College St Ives in the first elimination round.

The fictional civil case centred on a defamation claim, with the plaintiff alleging that an Instagram post referring to a famous boxer by the nickname “Dirty Dog” had damaged his reputation after complaints about his noisy pet dog. Our team successfully defended the claim, demonstrating excellent legal knowledge, persuasive advocacy and quick thinking under pressure.

The team not only won the case but also outperformed their opponents by 11 performance points – a narrow but well-deserved victory in what was a very closely contested round.

Congratulations to Auden, Ben G, Artie, Joe M, Clara N and Finn M on an outstanding performance and the many hours of preparation that led to this success. Thank you to Gareth Douse Mock Trial Coordinator for his dedication, mentorship and unwavering support in preparing the team for competition.

We wish the team the very best as they prepare for the second elimination round in the coming weeks.
