A window to the future

IGS Senior School students, Toby C, Genevieve E and Ashton C, joined ELC students Ezra F, Ruby W and Acacia L P to participate in a unique collaborative project titled The Possibility Portal, an innovative digital activation supported by UNSW, Be The Future and Parents For Climate.

During the session, students aged 3 to 17 were filmed sharing their visions for the future and their calls to action for adults. These recordings were transformed into a montage of holograms, serving as a “window to the future” to be featured at high-traffic events including Climate Action Week Sydney 2026.

By responding to social science-informed questions, our students have helped create a platform that encourages adults to make meaningful climate action pledges and build a collective tapestry of commitment.

The first activation took place at UTS on Monday 9 March, where Victoria Kirkwood Head of Early Learning attended to see the final result of the project.

Projects like The Possibility Portal highlight the power of student voice, giving young people a platform to inspire reflection, responsibility and meaningful climate action. Thank you UNSW Dr Rebecca Green and Sally Giblin Founder of Be The Future for inviting our students to be part of such a powerful project. And thank you to Victoria Kirkwood Head of Early Learning and Carmelo Fedele Head of Sustainability for coordinating and supporting this initiative.
