From the moment students walked through the Kelly Street gates, it was clear that ArtsFest 2025 would be a day to remember. This year’s theme Disney transported the entire School into a celebration of storytelling, creativity and performance. As students stepped onto campus, they entered a world of magic and imagination. Mickey ears, princess gowns and pirate hats filled the hallways as students and staff alike embraced the theme, dressing as their favourite characters—from classic figures to modern icons.
The day kicked off with an exhibition of stunning visual art, with each House showcasing breathtaking works inspired by Disney films. Paintings, sculptures, short stories and poems filled the space, reflecting the depth of student talent.
Following the art showcase, the Drama and Dance performances took centre stage. Each House delivered captivating interpretations of beloved Disney moments. The Drama category saw innovative performances that blended iconic narratives with original student storytelling. Short films added another layer of artistic expression, incentivising insightful discussions.
After a short recess, the Hall came alive as students joined Year 12s for a crowd-fuelled singalong. ‘Hot to Go’ by Chappell Roan got everyone moving and ‘Hot Potato’ was a fan favourite. Theatresports brought laughter and quick wit while music performances set a joyful tone.
To finish off the day, each House took the stage to perform for the whole School, bringing their own take on the Disney theme to life:
- Bamal took the audience on a journey through the internal politics of Disney in 2066
- Baado embraced Disney’s identity crisis
- Gura transformed the stage into a high-energy ‘Villain Therapy’ session
- Kuyal transported everyone to Camp Rock
The scores were tallied and the winners announced, Gura took home the ArtsFest Shield and claimed victory in the Whole House Performances with their unforgettable stage show.
