2023 CDSSA Swimming Carnival

IGS students had an incredible day in the pool!

They competed in the Combined Districts Secondary Sports Association (CDSSA) Swimming Championship.

Students represented IGS across all age groups, from 12 years to Opens. IGS swimmers participated in a range of events and achieved great personal and team success.

“It was especially impressive to witness students push themselves outside of their comfort zone to compete in races they were apprehensive about and set new PBs,” said PDHPE, Sport and Outdoor Education Director Simon Board.

IGS performed very well as a team, placing fifth overall.

“We also had some amazing individual performances. Willem Meischke and William Stanton-Clark were age champions for the 13 and 16 years boys competitions respectively, with Toby Dolph coming a very close second in the 17 years boys category,” said Mr Board.

Congratulations to everyone who competed in the CDSSA event and good luck to everyone who has progressed to the Association of Independent Co-Educational Schools (AICES) swimming championships being held shortly!
