Year 8 spent the week holed up each day in The Merchants House, The Rocks, as they ventured into 'investigations' including

  • the bubonic plaque in the early days;
  • joining a "Dig" with Archaeologist Dr Wayne Johnson;
  • the footsteps of convicts;
  • a trip on board the Tribal Warrior to learn more about the history and culture of the Gadigal People;
  •  interviewing older residents of Millers Point;
  • and Susannah Place, the oldest and continuously running shop.

The week reflected cross-curricular learning in history, literature, art and archaeology. The students documented their findings through writing, film and photography - with presentations to peers and parents at the end of the week.
