About the role
International Grammar School (IGS) is a secular, co-educational school near Sydney CBD, serving Preschool to Year 12 in a unique multilingual environment. The learning of languages is at the centre of an IGS education, and Primary students experience partial immersion for 80 minutes a day.
IGS is seeking an outstanding French language teacher for Kindergarten to Year 6 students, in our Global Learning Centre for teaching and learning of languages, to join our dynamic and vibrant Languages department from Term 3 (negotiable).
Essential skills
This role calls for a caring, compassionate, enthusiastic teacher with a passion for the French language and culture and the ability to inspire their students with a love of learning and show care and compassion in all their interactions.
Outstanding candidates will be collaborative, show initiative, be fluent in French, and have a strong understanding of French culture. A knowledge of the new Kindergarten to Year 10 French Syllabus, and well-developed skills using ICT for authentic and meaningful learning experiences are important, while the ability to teach an additional language is desirable.
