Role Description
This full-time position calls for an enthusiastic Laboratory Assistant to join our high performing and dynamic Science department. This is a non-teaching role, reporting to the Head of Science and providing support to the Science Department in preparation and delivery of practical lessons.
The position is a fixed term contract for Term 2 2018 (30 April – 29 June), replacing a staff member on leave. A full position description for this role is available here.
Essential Skills
The successful applicant will:
- Have previous significant school experience
- Hold at least a Certificate IV (Applied Science), but a BSc is desirable
- Be First Aid and Work Health and Safety trained
- Have an understanding of current WHS and safe work practices in schools
Experience in using the Risk Assess ordering program is highly desirable.
They will also have well-developed technology skills, particularly in the use of databases, email and the MS Office suite. They will have good written and verbal communication skills and have an ability to learn new skills and processes.
