International Grammar School is a secular coeducational school located across five sites in Ultimo and Glebe. We educate 1280 preschool to Year 12 students in a unique multilingual environment.
We are now seeking to appoint an exemplary Head of Primary Music, commencing Term 1 2020.
As Head of Primary Music you will lead the Primary Music Department, communicating and modelling a vision of excellence in all that you do. You will have a deep belief in the important role that Music plays in the broad liberal education of all students, while building the breadth, depth and quality of the study of Music across the Primary School.
You will be a curriculum expert, responsible for the effective leadership of the Primary Music Department and assisting the Director of Music to lead the large, vibrant Music Department, as well as supporting and guiding colleagues in their own practice.
You will encourage a culture of scholarship and excellence among both staff and students, continuing to strengthen the academic performance within the Department, seeking out and developing opportunities to create authentic learning experiences that promote a love of Music.
As an outstanding Music teacher, your passion for teaching will be underpinned by a deep knowledge and understanding of the NSW Music curriculum. Knowledge and experience in teaching Music through the Orff Methodology is advantageous. With your strong academic background and a record of success in Music education, you will be an exemplary role model of professionalism with high-level capacity to lead and manage the Primary Music Department with integrity, fairness, enthusiasm and energy.
