International Grammar School is a secular coeducational school located across five sites in Ultimo and Glebe. We educate 1280 preschool to Year 12 students in a unique multilingual environment.
IGS has a rich performing arts program and many students join our co-curricular music ensembles. With music classes beginning in Preschool, our aim is to provide students with a high quality music education in an energetic and creative environment.
We are seeking to appoint an exemplary Head of Music Performance for 2021, replacing a staff member on leave.
The Head of Music Performance has the primary responsibility for leading and developing all aspects of the School’s instrumental and ensemble program that builds on the breadth, depth and quality of student performance of Music, across the Early Learning, Primary and High School.
The successful applicant will conduct a variety of ensembles in 2021 and plan for the yearly concert series and performances at a range of school events. The role will also include the oversight of music tutors, including peripatetic staff, to ensure that they work to inspire excellence in student performance.
Our ideal Head of Music Performance for 2021 will be creative, energetic, experienced and well organised, and with a deep knowledge of Orff pedagogy, who will value partnerships with parents, staff and continue to pioneer enriching educational experiences for students across the Primary and High School. With proven conducting experience, you will be an exemplary role model of professionalism and collegiality, performing your role with integrity, enthusiasm and energy.
