About the role
International Grammar School is a leader in Languages education. The learning of Languages is at the centre of an IGS education and our Primary students are provided with a partial immersion program whilst in High School, Languages are a core component of all students’ study programs to at least Year 10.
This is an ongoing, full-time position to commence at the start of Term 1 2019. The teaching load for the role will include a combination of High School and Primary School classes.
About the successful applicant
This role calls for an outstanding teacher with a passion for teaching languages and inspiring in their students a love of German language and culture.
The successful applicant will be fluent in German and have a strong understanding of German culture. They will have an ability to work with others on collaborative projects as well as to show initiative with their programs and lessons. They will have well developed competencies in ICT.
A thorough understanding of the NSW German curriculum is essential to this role. The ability to teach a second language is desirable but not essential.
Applicants must have a current Working With Children Number for NSW and hold or be eligible for accreditation with NESA (formerly BOSTES). Please ensure that your application includes details of both your WWC check and NESA accreditation.
