About the role
International Grammar School is a leader in Languages education. The learning of Languages is at the centre of an IGS education and our Primary students are provided with a partial immersion program. Whilst in High School, Languages are a core component of all students’ study programs to at least Year 10.
This temporary part-time position calls for a dynamic and enthusiastic French Language Teacher to commence as soon as possible, with the role concluding at the end of Term 4 2019. The teaching load for the role will range between 0.5 to 0.6 of a full time equivalent and will focus on Stage 6 French Beginners and French Continuers. The working days will be Tuesday, Wednesday and Friday.
About the successful applicant
This role calls for an outstanding teacher with a passion for teaching languages and inspiring their students with a love of French language and culture.
The successful applicant will be fluent in French and have a strong understanding of French culture. They will have an ability to work with others on collaborative projects, show initiative with their programs and lessons, and well developed competencies in ICT.
A thorough understanding of the NSW French curriculum is essential to this role. The ability to teach a second language is desirable but not essential.
Applicants must have a current Working With Children Number for NSW and hold or be eligible for accreditation with NESA (formerly BOSTES). Please ensure that your application includes details of both your WWC check and NESA accreditation.
