Early Learning Educator (German Language)

About the role

International Grammar is a vibrant and dynamic school located in the heart of Sydney’s educational and technology precinct. The School has a current enrolment of 1,250 students in a multi building campus.

Our dynamic and innovative Early Learning Department offers a unique languages program that immerses children in an intercultural and diverse environment.

This role has been re-advertised and is a wonderful opportunity for an outstanding Early Childhood Educator to help us successfully integrate into our Languages program. Early Learning Educators provide support to Early Childhood Teachers in our Early Learning program, catering to children aged three to five. Languages are an integral part of this program. This involves working with small groups of children and interacting with them in the German language. 

The role is an ongoing full time position with a flexible start date in early Term 1 2019. The typical hours for this role will be 7.45am to 3.45pm.  

About the successful applicant

The successful applicant will be able to assist in creating an environment in which the care and development of children is maintained at all times. They will work to assist Early Childhood Teachers to meet the values and goals of the School and have a thorough understanding of the Early Years Framework. They will be a fluent speaker of German with an extensive understanding of German culture.

The successful applicant must be suitably qualified as a childcare worker or be in the process of obtaining such qualifications.  Diploma level qualifications are desirable, but outstanding applicants who hold a Certificate III will also be considered. They will have excellent written and verbal communications skills and demonstrated skills in contributing to the documentation of children’s learning.

Applicants should hold a current first aid certificate and have the ability to interact in a respectful manner with children, families and colleagues. They will be highly ethical and professional in all aspects of their work.

Applicants must have a current Working With Children Number for NSW (or be in the process of obtaining one).
