International Grammar School (IGS) is a vibrant and dynamic School located in the heart of Sydney’s educational and technology precinct. The School has a current enrolment of 1250 students in a multi building campus.
IGS has a rich performing arts program and many students join our co-curricular music ensembles. With music classes beginning in Preschool, our aim is to provide students with a high quality music education in an energetic and creative environment.
About the role
We are seeking an experienced String Director to lead our inaugural Primary string ensemble. This position will involve rehearsals on Thursday mornings 7.15am to 9.30am, during the school term, with additional performances throughout the year.
About the right candidate
The successful applicant will have experience in leading and directing string groups. They will have used Orff methodologies in their music instruction and/or have completed Orff training. They will have well-developed communication skills and the capacity to work with others to help young musicians achieve their potential.
