Role Description
International Grammar is a vibrant and dynamic School located in the heart of Sydney’s educational and technology precinct. The School has a current enrolment of 1250 students in a multi building campus.
IGS offers a unique languages program that immerses children in an intercultural and diverse environment from Early Learning to Year 12. Our School introduced Chinese (Mandarin) into our Early Learning Program in 2017 and we are now expanding this in 2019 into our primary languages program.
We are seeking a dynamic and enthusiastic Chinese teacher to develop and build our Primary School Chinese program. The teaching load for this role will focus on Kindergarten in 2019 with some Stage 4 classes.
This role is a wonderful opportunity for an outstanding Chinese Language teacher to help us successfully integrate Chinese into our Languages program from Kindergarten. Languages are an integral part of the Primary School program and are taught through curriculum content in the target language. This involves understanding the NSW Languages syllabus and working with the IGS developed Languages program.
Essential Skills
This role calls for a passionate Chinese teacher with strong communication skills who has experience in teaching Chinese at the Primary level. They will be a fluent speaker of Chinese with an extensive understanding of Chinese culture.
They will have the ability to work collaboratively with others on projects as well as show initiative with their lessons and programs. They will have well developed competencies in ICT.
Applicants must have a current Working With Children Number for NSW and hold or be eligible for accreditation with NESA (formerly BOSTES). Please ensure that your application includes details of both your WWC check and NESA accreditation.
