Accounting Clerk / Bookkeeper

Role Description

We are looking for a skilled Accounting Clerk or Bookkeeper to perform a variety of accounting-related functions. This will include support to the Accounts Payable (AP) and Accounts Receivable (AR) functions, debtor control, general bookkeeping and other financial tasks and not limited to system implementation support and account analysis.

This is a part-time position, working 2 days a week, to support the IGS Accounts department and Head of Finance with various key financial tasks. There is flexibility around these days. This role will provide ad-hoc analytical and system support where needed, and therefore candidates should, ideally also have flexibility to work additional days when other team members are on leave.

The successful applicant will ideally commence as soon as possible.

Essential Skills

The successful applicant will have:

  • Proven accounting experience gained in an AP and AR function.
  • Experience with general bookkeeping and basic accounting procedures.
  • Accuracy and attention to detail.
  • An aptitude for numbers and be well organised.
  • The ability to perform filing and record keeping tasks when needed.
  • A Bachelor degree or relevant certification (desirable).

They will also have well-developed technology skills, particularly in the use of databases, modern accounting software, email and the MS Office suite. They will have good written and verbal communication skills, and have an ability to learn new skills and processes.
