To put their understanding into a real-world context teacher Michelle had her students participate in an engineering process.
Students had the opportunity to produce and test several prototypes and to create a new and improved prototype.
The task was to modify an original balloon buggy.
“The students also set criteria about what materials they can use and the number of components their balloon buggy can have,” Michelle said.
During the last week of Term 4, students enjoyed a Balloon Buggy Race.
