Year 1 Japanese students create business cards

Year 1 Japanese students delved into the topic "people in our community" last term and explored the different roles of staff at IGS.

Assistant Head of Junior School Languages and Japanese Language Teacher, Machiko Sensei said to conclude their learning, students created business cards for School staff.

Those who received a business card included Principal Shauna Colnan, Deputy Principal Mary Duma and Head of Junior School Colin Bird.

“Their learning journey started with learning about business cards. They were introduced how people in Japan exchange their business cards. Then they practised writing their school name and teacher’s name. Finally they created special business cards with decorations,” she said.

“It was a very exciting experience to visit staff and give them their business cards.”

Machiko Sensei said her students were particularly thrilled when they visited the Principal’s Office to deliver her card.
