Then, in a video, they shared their thoughts on the importance of toys for children, their favourite toys, and even their teachers’ favourite toys and games when they were growing up.
Throughout Term 3, students have been exploring different games such as the hula hoop and learning how to fly a kite.
Students shared their favourite toys, including robots, lego, Ooshies, soccer balls, and pokemon.
One student said his favourite toy to play with was paper airplanes, because “you get to build them”.
Year 1 Teacher Sarah said students have investigated toys past and present.
“We have looked at toys that fly and made old toys like kites and paper planes,” she said.
“We looked at the oldest toy that was found in King Tutankhamen’s tomb which was a spinning top, and then had a challenge of making our own spinning top.
“We also questioned our parents about what their favourite toy was when they were little. We went on an excursion to Vaucluse House to see what toys they played with 160 years ago.
“It has been a wonderful term.”
