In the wake of exciting nominations for OnSTAGE for every member of the Year 12 Drama Class of 2019 and the IGS Day of Giving in August, creation of the Centre for the Dramatic Arts is expected to begin on Monday 14 October 2019, and be finished in 2020.

The upgraded centre, at the top of the Wright Building, has been designed by BVN Architecture, who also designed the recently completed IGS Global Learning Centre for the Teaching and Learning of Languages and Imaginarium.
IGS campus upgrades are in keeping with the Strategic Plan Into the World 2016-2020.
“I am thrilled about this exciting Centre for the Dramatic Arts,” said IGS Director of Drama Rita Morabito.
“It will feature upgraded rehearsal space, flexible learning spaces and endless possibilities.
“This refurbished performance space will be suitable for our talented and hard working students, including our Drama students who have performed so well over many decades, those who take part in Theatresports and other clubs and competitions, and each child who is improving their team work, confidence and communications abilities.”
In related news, the IGS Literarium, a versatile new classroom on Level 2 of the Reg St Leon Building, was completed recently, and is being used for a variety of classes and meetings.
