Appointment of Acting Head of Stage 2 Sarah Riley
With Peter Adam’s recent appointment as Head of Stage 3, we congratulate Sarah Riley on her appointment to the role.
Sarah holds a Master of Education from The University of Sydney and brings to IGS considerable experience in leadership in primary school educational settings.
Sarah has worked in a number of government and independent schools with a range of curriculum models and has a clear understanding of NESA curriculum requirements. She impressed the selection panel for her suitability to fulfil the requirements of the role.
Shirley Firth
Shirley joins the English Department for the duration of this year. Shirley has most recently completed her Master of Teaching Degree at the University of New England where she majored in English and Society and Culture.
Shirley is from the USA where she completed her undergraduate studies in English Literature and Writing at Fort Lewis College, graduating with Honors.
Shirley has most recently been teaching with the Department of Education and prior to her career in teaching, she worked in medical administration and hospitality.
Madison Holness
Madison will be teaching Music on a short-term contract. Following the completion of a Master of Teaching (P-12) from La Trobe University in 2017, Madison has been teaching Music in both primary and high schools and has also taught Humanities subjects.
During 2019 and 2020, Madison taught Music at Trinity Anglican College. Madison is also a trained vocalist who has worked enthusiastically with a range of choirs and singing groups and as a vocal director for a variety of school musical productions.
Stephanie Luford
Stephanie has been appointed as an Administrative Assistant to support PDHPE and Heads of Department in a part time capacity, Monday to Wednesday.
Stephanie has most recently been working at Moriah College in a payroll/accounts payable role and assisting with HR administration. She has also worked in many different contexts in administrative roles which have included retail, marketing and event coordination while completing a BA in Communications from UTS and also keeping abreast of advances in IT programs to support her work.
