We are delighted to welcome Pietrina Cassaniti who will be teaching languages in the Primary School while Head of High School Languages Giuseppina Mustica takes long service leave for the rest 2021.
Pietrina, a valued IGS casual teacher, holds a Master of Education from UTS, and a Graduate Diploma in Languages teaching UTS (in Italian and French). Her interests also include Music, Sport and cooking!
A warm welcome also to Priy-asha (Sasha) Bundhoo, another regular IGS casual teacher, who is joining us in a full time capacity for Term 3, as a High School Maths Teacher.
Sasha has a Bachelor of Arts/Bachelor of Education (Mathematics) from Australian Catholic University, and was awarded the Teacher Education Student Prize from Mathematical Association of New South Wales. Welcome Sasha!
We congratulate Emma Richards who has stepped in to Sophie Jones’s two day a week Primary PDHPE role while Sophie is on extended leave.
Emma has worked with IGS in varying capacities for the last couple of decades, and her strong work experience includes PDHPE Teaching, Head of both High School and Primary School PDHPE, Sport and Outdoor Education, and the coaching of a variety of sports including Rugby Union.
Tanika Belovukovic, also known as Tanika Belle, is joining our Primary School in a temporary role for Terms 3 and 4, teaching Kindergarten. Tanika holds a Bachelor of Arts and Primary Education, from Avondale University of Higher Education and has achieved her Proficient Teacher Accreditation.
Tanika comes highly commended to IGS from Eastwood Primary School where she has been teaching since 2019. Tanika’s cocurricular interests have included coordinating choirs and swimming school, Gifted and Talented Education and sustainability.
We also welcome Cyndy Thooi in the part time role of Early Learning Centre Administrator. Originally from Malaysia, Cyndy is well suited to IGS, as a global citizen, having lived and worked for more than 20 years, in wonderful multicultural cities is the UK, UAE, Qatar and now Australia.
Cyndy began her career in law and taxation, but after taking a break to focus on raising her three children, discovered a passion for early childhood education. This led her to a career change and she now brings a wealth of experience in working as an administrator in educational organisations in both Sydney and Dubai.
Cyndy is very excited to become part of the ELC team, and is looking forward to meeting and supporting our staff, children and families.

Congratulating new leaders
This semester, three members of staff are taking on leadership roles.
Congratulations to David Smith who will be Acting Head of Stage 2 for Terms 3 and 4, in addition to his continuing role as Primary Digital Innovator.
We also congratulate Shu-yi Wu who will be Acting Head of High School Languages from Terms 3 and 4 while Giuseppina is on leave.
Warm congratulations also to our ICT Assistant Manager Khalid Naeem who is stepping up to higher duties in a current period of leave being taken by Paul Bourke.
