Tote bags all sewn up

During off-campus learning, students enjoyed learning about sewing and sewing machines.

“Since being back on campus, students have been putting all their learning into practice and have completed their designs and bags in record time. I am really proud of their efforts this year,” Design and Technology Teacher Mark Devine said.

Luca: “I liked making the box, and I learnt more about different material properties.”

Archie: “Making the wooden box was fun, I really enjoyed having  the freedom to choose our own design for the lid of the box.”

Tilly: “I enjoyed learning how to use a sewing machine and getting to design my own fabric. Learning more about wool production and different forms of fiber was also very enjoyable. And finally finishing the bag was very exciting and I’m pretty proud of it.”
