Top soccer team honoured

International Grammar School’s Under 13 years girls' soccer team displayed skill, grace and courage this season.

Their coach has praised the team’s “elite skill and effortless grace, all the way from game play to celebrating wins”.

“From their local tournament to a state futsal competition, to the Super 6s undefeated streak celebrations, they have displayed camaraderie and true sportsmanship,” Amanda Ghorra said.

“Playing among some of the best in the State, the players danced and hugged amid a draw, determined to show gratitude for the opportunity to take part in such challenging tournaments.

“It’s been a joy to see their football skills develop, and their sense of solidarity and team spirit flourish.”

Ms Ghorra said she would like to extend an honorable mention to the team who put in 100 per cent at every game and gleefully sung Queen’s We Are the Champions, on the return from the game.

“You are indeed champions, and until next season; I thank you.”

Congratulations to Armani Carr, Audrey Geniaux, Eva Harris Watts, Nadia Kljajic, Delphine Labancz, Ava Landon, Zahra Laurans-Wall, Louisa Price, Molly Quigley, Matilda Randall, Charli Travis, Emilia Williams and Alice Bowler.
