Taste of fair trade as Easter approaches

As Easter approaches, the IGS Amnesty International Action Club has been raising awareness of the issue of ethical chocolate.

“We held an information stall making students of IGS aware of what child labour is and the effects it was having on the children,” said Year 8 club member Talulla.

“We also provided pamphlets showing the brands that did and didn’t use fair trade and fair labour.

“Once the students were made aware of the issue each of them received a few pieces of fair trade chocolate to try, from brands such as Haighs, Choceur, Green and Blacks as well as Dairy Fine.

“Overall the day was very successful and was a great experience for everyone to enjoy and become more aware.”
