Talent on display at HSC Music Showcase

Congratulations to our Year 12 Music students who recently put on a showstopping performance for parents and staff.

Acting Director of Music Nik Glass said Stage 6 Music students have been busily preparing their performance repertoire over the last few months in preparation for their upcoming HSC assessments.

“HSC Music performance is guided by a range of assessment criteria relating to expression, technique, sense of style and solo/ensemble awareness. The Music Department has provided a number of opportunities to support senior Music students during this crucial period in their HSC studies,” Nik said.

In preparation for their HSC assessments, Stage 6 participated in their first masterclass with Artists in Residence, Duo Leung.

“The Artists in Residence provide mentorship and enrichment to IGS students in the area of music performance,” Nik said.

“During the first masterclass, students received targeted feedback about their musical interpretations in an environment that was interactive, supportive and strengths-based.

“The Year 12 Music Performance Showcase was the first opportunity in over a year for live performance. It was such a thrill to once again witness the wonderful performance skills of our senior student giving it their all, in front of a live audience of parents and friends.”

Students will continue to fine tune their interpretations all the way up to their final performance examinations in September.

We are pleased to share this performance with you through beautiful images.
