Students fundraise for upcoming Antipodeans trip

IGS students in Years 9 and 10 are greeting the IGS community at the gate each Thursday morning, offering refreshments.

Funds raised with their sale of hot chocolates, biscuits and donuts are go towards a nursing home for Tibetan refugees in Darjeeling in the northern part of India.

“In April next year about 30 of us are travelling to the north of India for a five-day trek, then helping build a nursing home for Tibetan refugees in Darjeeling,” said Nell.

“I am really excited. We have been preparing a lot. We have really grown together as a team. It’s going to be a very amazing and different experience.”

This week, Francis, Joe and Rob created a welcoming atmosphere and raised additional funds by busking with their guitars, percussion and songs.
