Joy of books on show

IGS Primary students put on a showstopping Book Parade this week, in celebration of Book Week.

This year’s theme was “reading is my superpower,” and students were encouraged to dress as a character from their favourite book.

There were many impressive Harry Potters, as well as Angelina the Ballerina, Alice in Wonderland, Minions and many more.

Staff also took the opportunity to dress up as superheroes.

There was even a secret spy in the room looking out for the best-behaved class.

Year 2 Green was announced as the winner of the secret power prize, but in the end, everyone in Year 2 was considered a winner.

It was a wonderful opportunity to celebrate the power of literacy and the importance of books in our lives.
