Stay healthy and positive with workouts

The IGS PDHPE Department shares more exercise sites with students and families.

UK body coach Joe Wicks has become a sensation in the UK and other parts of the world where schools are closed, hosting free workouts aimed at kids.

While IGS advises not to overdo it, PDHPE teacher Veronica Whitaker said the YouTube site was worth exploring, especially for Primary School aged students and their parents.

“With the schools closed and with us all spending more time at home, it’s more important than ever that we keep moving and stay healthy and positive,” Joe has told followers.

“Exercise is an amazing tool to help us feel happier, more energised, and more optimistic. The workouts will be fun and suitable for all ages and even adults can get involved.

“You don’t need any equipment, just tune in to my YouTube channel at 9am each morning for a 30-minute, fun workout.”

Another great idea from Veronica is to bring out a skipping rope, if space permits.
