“Ever since I was little I wanted to be a doctor,” Selin said.
“I want to make a difference in people’s lives. It’s such an important skill to have that knowledge to be able to help others in that way.
“I’m planning to get straight into it in 2021. My dream is to own my own clinic, specialising in women’s and children’s health as an integrated doctor.”
Her advice for younger students is to “use each year to your very best”.
“It’s easy to take for granted the years of High School from seven to ten,” she said.
“I would very much advise other students to use each year to the very best. Those years are the foundation to learn how to study and discover what subjects you like. Year 11 is the year you can apply for an early offer into university.”
Selin wanted to thank her mentor, IGS Deputy Principal Mary Duma, as well as all IGS teachers who supported her.
