Science makes a splash in Early Learning

National Science Week featured in Early Learning with a couple of experiments.

In Transition Gold, an IGS parent joined the class via Zoom to demonstrate an experiment conducted remotely.

In Preschool Gold, Early Learning Educator Victoria Willet investigated different states of water.

Students explored frozen, solid and liquid states of water by excavating “shells” from the sandpit which had been frozen.

“We used lots of descriptive a language – smooth, cold, hard, freezing, melting and soft,” Ms Willet said.

“We also experimented with different levels of coloured water in different sized jars. They made sounds when tapped. We also made music and discussed concepts around volume.”
