Safety first on the road

As part of their PDHPE course, Year 10 students took part in the RYDA Road Safety Education program at Sydney Olympic Park earlier in the week.

Students participated in six interactive sessions on a broad range of road safety topics.

“Under the theme ‘My Life: My Choices’, the empowering messages are designed to give young participants cause to stop, reflect and consider their decisions as a passenger or a driver,” said Head of PDHPE Dan Collins.

“A substantial investment has been made in developing a program that consistently targets best practice road safety education standards.”

In conjunction with research, Road Safety Education Limited, the providers of the RYDA Program consulted with road safety authorities, state departments of education and police so that the program complements and supplements the school curriculum and government road safety messages.
