Ruby impresses in Chinese Competition

Congratulations to Ruby Dragicevic of Year 11 for her prize-winning performance representing IGS in the 14th Chinese Bridge: Chinese Proficiency Competition for Foreign Secondary School Students.

Students from all around the world competed via Zoom.

Ruby attended the preliminary round in NSW, where she was required to deliver a speech in Mandarin and present a Chinese cultural performance.

“Ruby performed very well by giving an inspiring speech and reciting a beautiful Chinese poem,” Acting Head of High School Languages and Chinese teacher Shuyi Wu said.

“She spoke fluently and confidently. Her passionate performance impressed the judges. Eventually, Ruby won the third prize out of many strong contestants. This is the first time IGS won a prize in this competition,”
