Primary Language learning enters new era at IGS

IGS has had an exciting start to the year in the Languages department, with the first group of students learning Chinese (Mandarin) progressing from Early Learning into the Primary School, and IGS Primary Language leaders appointed to further enhance language learning.

With the introduction of Mandarin language studies in the Primary School, IGS has welcomed Mandarin Teacher Linda Gu to elevate this program. Ms Gu was formally introduced at the recent Primary School assembly, sharing a fun learning activity with all students in Kindergarten to Year 6.

“The best part of learning languages is exploring new words and being able to go to the country,” Katerina said.

“My favourite topic so far has been learning about Rome.”

“I find languages very immersive, intriguing and fun,” Bruno added. “My favourite topic so far has been ‘Target Country: Germany’.”
