Rukhshanda, who has a Masters Degree in Information Technology and a Bachelors Degree in Computer Sciences, moved to Australia from Pakistan in 2012 with her husband and two children.
She speaks Urdu, Punjabi, Hindi, Fijian and English.
Prior to joining IGS, Rukhshanda worked with non-profit institutes and corporate and educational sectors.
“My mother being a retired teacher and her being my role model, my interest since my childhood in teaching brought me close to the education sector even after pursuing my career in IT, which I am profoundly in love with,” she said.
“Being in-charge of transforming manual tasks to automated and improving the user experience from Oh-No-Again to a big WOW is a part of my job which I love and I never get bored as there is always something new to explore and it keeps me motivated to experience new challenges.
“I am enjoying the direct interaction with students and teachers, because my previous roles were mostly in the corporate offices of institutions or companies, always putting me behind the keyboard and camera.”
In her spare time, Ruskhshanda volunteers in her local community and enjoys cooking and photography.
“If I had not been an IT professional, I would have been a chef or a photographer,” she said.
“If you love curries and Biryani and want to try authentic Pakistani taste, just mention that to me and you will for sure get a cooked meal from me sooner rather than later.”
