Moments of celebration and delight

IGS celebrated Kindergarten to Year 2 students' achievements at their Speech Day, bringing joy to proud parents, caregivers, students and staff.

“Today, it’s all about the kids,” said IGS Head of Junior School Colin Bird.

“Seeing their progression and growth throughout this year is fantastic. This is such a beautiful school to be at, so thank you parents for having faith in IGS to deliver. They are all travelling through their school years beautifully.”

Mr Bird also thanked the “remarkable team of Primary staff, who are just superb”.

The Welcome to Country was presented by Year 6 student Nyree Davison, and the Acknowledgement of Country was presented in German by Sofia Dragicevic, Italian by Gisela Labraga, Japanese by Kiyomi Duncan and French by Darcy O’Rourke.

The Junior Orchestra got the audience involved for a performance of Mister Rabbit and Jingle Bells, Kindergarten performed People All Around the World by Garry and Carol Crees, Year 1 performed Living in a Fairytale by Hi-5 and Year 2 presented a language item, Turn The Beat Around by Gloria Estefan, which was adapted by Year 2 IGS Language teachers.

It was a lively occasion to conclude a year of delightful moments in the lives of our youngest Primary School learners.
