“We are now under a month away from opening night. The excitement within the cast continues to build. As plans for our bump in are finalised, it’s becoming clear that Matilda is going to be the most spectacular music theatre performance ever staged at IGS,” IGS Acting Director of Music Nik Glass said.
“With more than 400 costumes, 10 tonnes of set, and a breathtaking design that will transform the Hall into the unforgettable Crunchem Hall Primary School, Matilda the Musical is set to ‘go the whole hog’ at IGS.
“The cast have been busy rehearsing, and recently performed When I Grow Up at the Primary Assembly. The performance was outstanding and demonstrates how homogenous and switched on the 92 cast members are. The kids are really giving it their all, while being expertly guided by our outstanding production team of IGS staff.”
Nik said that while most IGS students “kick back over the Easter break, cast members will work tirelessly,” with rehearsals running from 15 April all the way up until opening night on Tuesday 27 April.
