Masella sisters in the news

International Grammar School sisters Mi-kaisha and Kiki Masella are making headlines.

Mi-kaisha, in Year 12, has been featured in the national Indigenous newspaper, the Koori Mail, for being appointed IGS Head Girl for 2018.

In the same week, her sister, Kiki, in Year 8, has been tipped in Who Magazine as “the breakout star” of a new NITV series, Grace Beside Me, starting on 16 February. She will play the lead character Fuzzy Mac.

Both students enjoy performing. Mi-kaisha, a talented singer and song writer, opened the most recent NAIDOC week celebrations in Sydney.

Mi-kaisha is the first Indigenous scholar Head Girl at IGS.

“I am an example of when equal opportunities are given to Aboriginal kids,” Mi-kaisha said.
