Mock Trial team’s impressive win

The IGS Mock Trial team continues to grow from strength to strength, having made the grade for the State quarter finals.

“Rather than a record breaking season, this is now a record smashing season,” said Mock Trial Leader and Assistant Head of HSIE Jonathan White, referring to the team’s recent win in the third elimination round against SCEGGS Redlands.

“Congratulations to the team on yet another huge success.”

The team includes Amelie Kenney, Amelia Milne, Hayley Dobbin and Max Meyer of Year 10, and Marcus Lautier, Siena Scott-Hickie and Saskia Steetsel of Year 11.

Hayley Dobbin said that she’s found Mock Trial to be “an enriching and valuable experience”.

“It’s been great to be a part of a team and learn about law at the same time.

“I would like to be a lawyer when I leave school, so Mock Trial has increased my motivation and passion for law.”

IGS Deputy Principal Mary Duma also congratulated the team.

“I was privileged to witness you in action last night,” Mary told the students. “You are dynamite.”

IGS thanks former IGS parent and barrister David Hirsch for sharing his expertise with our students. Congratulations and best wishes to the team for the next round of the competition.
