Language learning put to the test

Year 2 Japanese students have been putting their Language skills to the test this term as they began constructing sentences to express their ideas.

During Term 2, students are learning about body parts, health and hygiene.

“Their journey started with revising the names of body parts,” Machiko Sensei said.

“Then they described their physical appearance and compared our body parts with animals and fish. They explored five senses including a variety of textures.”

During Week 5, students learnt particularly about teeth and dental hygiene.

“They categorised the different foods that are good and bad for teeth, and practised constructing sentences to express their ideas,” she said.

“Students were fascinated to learn there are different shapes of teeth and they have different functions.

“The students particularly enjoyed making a cup and toothbrush with origami paper after learning about brushing teeth in Japanese.”
