The Kaboom Percussion performers created a blend of music and science to entertain and inspire students.
They used home made and recycled percussion instruments to remind students that you don’t need expensive equipment to play music.
Some of the instruments the performers used included the bottlephone, made out of recycled plastic bottles, the thongophone, which shows how different length of pipes can produce different notes, as well as various buckets, boxes and kitchen utensils.
Kaboom’s workshop was accessible, inclusive, inspiring and above all fun. Many of the music concepts explored in our Stage 2 Music curriculum were also reinforced.
