Joy of reading in lockdown

IGS Early Learner Charlotte has been keeping herself busy with the Principal's Reading Challenge during the lockdown.

Charlotte’s mother Sarah said “after several weeks of reading The Lion, The Witch and The Wardrobe, Charlotte finally finished her Principal’s Reading Challenge.”

“She was a bit sad when Aslan was killed by the White Witch, but was very happy when he came back and the Witch was defeated,” Sarah said.

Charlotte has also enjoyed reading A Big Pig by Malachy Doyle.

IGS Head of Early Learning Sarah Herbert said she is delighted to see Charlotte and other children from Early Learning  connecting with IGS in this way.

“Sharing stories, talking and singing everyday promotes young children’s development in many ways,” Sarah said.

If your child would like to participate in the IGS Principal’s Reading Challenge from home, please print off a card, and send it in to early.learning@igssyd.nsw.edu.au once complete, and we will send your child their prize from the Bibliothèque.
