Our Primary students were gracious and caring hosts for the visitors, showing them around the school and sharing their learning experiences.
“I really enjoyed having the Chinese students at IGS, because we got a chance not only learn some Chinese, but also learn about their culture and what school is like back home for them,” said Charley of Year 5.
“We have already swapped email addresses and plan to keep in touch,” added Remy.
The IGS students all agreed that having the visitors from China provided both a teaching and learning experience, and one that they very much enjoyed.
To farewell the guests, our students held a morning tea to present them with IGS teddy bears and special gifts for their teachers who accompanied them.
Our visitors presented an array of performances to thank IGS for hosting them.
Building relationships with schools around the world is important for IGS to support our students to become world ready and further their connections with and understanding of different cultures.
