IGS students speak out west

Excitement continued to build as IGS Year 6 students made their way to Goodooga via Dubbo and the Western Plains Zoo.

ABC Western Plains radio presenter Nic Healey interviewed Chenelle Carr and Fin Moore as well as Connecting Communities Australia (CCA) Schools Walking Together Program CEO Glenn Price who is leading the cultural exchange with Goodooga School and IGS teacher Lucy Howard-Shibuya.
The students woke to sound of lions roaring after a cold and wet night of camping near the zoo, before being interviewed.
“I’m a proud Wiradjuri and Gamilaraay girl and I am really, really excited to be going to Yuwalaaraay Country,” said Chenelle Carr of Year 6. “I can’t wait to see the differences and how everything is going to work.”
Fin Moore, also of Year 6 added he was excited to see cultural differences and see what the students do differently on a daily basis.”
