IGS Race to Support Australia

To celebrate the start of the Olympics, the IGS PDHPE Department has today launched an initiative to run, walk, cycle, swim or scoot your way around Australia.

“Let’s see how far we can get around Australia’s 25,000km coastline,” PDHPE Teacher Lucy Haynes said.

“Record your km’s and complete this Google form. You can pick how you want your km’s to be recorded. We will ultimately be working together as a community but we can race to see who contributes the most.”

Today as we launch this exciting race around this beautiful country it is important that we acknowledge the First Nations Peoples as the traditional custodians of Australia and their deep connection to Country, the oceans, the skies and the land. We pay our respects to elders past, present and emerging across all the nations of Australia. This land was, is and always will be Aboriginal land.

Let’s see if we can complete the full lap around this beautiful country of ours!
